In case you haven’t turned on the tv, checked Facebook or Twitter, or have even talked to a friend lately, the 2012 Olympics are going on right now. People all around the world tune in to cheer for their country’s teams. Am I the only one that gets depressed when I see the best of the best competing for a gold medal? Hit to jump to feel my pain.
I feel like I’m wasting my life as I eat my bowl of cereal while Michael Phelps and Missy Franklin do work in London. My whole life I’ve been told that everyone has a calling and that everyone is great at something. WELL WAY TO SET THE STANDARDS HIGH WORLD! I mean, people even receive cheers for eating the most hot dogs in 10 minutes. Maybe I should look into the NERD olympics or the HIPSTER Olympics, where silver is the new gold.
At this point in the game, we should just enjoy the little things. I’m pretty decent with 180 No Scopes in Battlefield 3, can kill a dragon in one hit in Skyrim, and am pretty good at Excel. Too bad that doesn’t win over the girls like 8+ gold medals does. Maybe the Cosplay 5K is more my speed. I’m sure I could outrun this little Yoda. Let me just say that I am not angry or depressed. I just like to rant sometimes, like when achievement is praised so much. Cereal and Olympics time!
